Fundraising will bring fun to children

Children visiting the Trust’s holiday respite house when it opens next spring will be able to enjoy some fantastic outdoor play equipment thanks to the efforts of the American Women of Berkshire and Surrey (AWBS).

Following eight months of fundraising the group presented the Trust with a cheque for £10,000 to fund the equipment.

AWBS has worked closely with Sebastian’s Action Trust over the past three years and has raised more than £25,000 to help the Trust realise Sebastian’s dream of creating a purpose-built holiday house for children with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses and their families.

Vice president of Philanthropy for AWBS Susan Daniels said: “We regard our philanthropic activities as the “heart” of our organisation and as such are committed to helping local charities realise their very worthy goals. We also like to provide practical support to our charities in addition to financial awards, and many of our members roll up their sleeves and become ‘hands-on’ volunteers.”

The Trust is incredibly grateful to all at AWBS who work so hard to support us.
