Happy 1st Birthday to The Bluebells

Our holiday respite house The Bluebells has now been welcoming families for much-needed breaks for a year.

The Bluebells officially opened on July 5th 2011 with the first guests arriving for a respite break on July 10th. Since then, Sebastian's Action Trust has been delighted to welcome 100 families for respite breaks and a further 280 individuals for day visits, enabling them to benefit from our fantastic facilities.

Trust Director Jane Gates said: "We are very proud of The Bluebells. It has already surpassed our hopes and expectations and has quickly established itself as an exceptional facility, offering peace, privacy and space needed by families living with the day to day struggle of a child's condition.

"We are delighted with the many positive and appreciative letters we have received from our families following their time at The Bluebells. We really do see each and every one of our families as "ours", as we are not a single visit destination: our aim is to walk alongside these families for as long as they wish, helping where appropriate in a myriad of ways.

“We would like to thank all our supporters for your help, generosity and incredible efforts in raising funds, it is sincerely appreciated, and to thank all our families for allowing us the privilege of working with you and getting to know you.”

But, while The Bluebells quietly celebrates its first year in operation this week, the real celebrations will take place in August  when the families we support are invited to join us for a day of fun and games at our Bluebellympics Party.
