Reading Triathlon supports the Trust

For the first time since 1983 Triathlon is returning to the Copthorne Hotel, Reading, the venue of Britain’s first ever triathlon and the Trust is delighted to have been selected as the chosen charity for the event.

The event will take place in the grounds of the hotel, formerly known as Kirton’s Farm, on Sunday 12th September 2010 and is open to individual and team entries.

Entrants can choose to take on the sprint distances of a 750m swim, 23km bike ride and a 5km run or to push themselves with the standard distance event which involves a 1500m swim, 46km cycle and 10km run.

The open water swim will be in the fresh water lake at the fantastic Tri20 Swim Centre, the bike leg will follow a route through the country roads of Berkshire and North Hampshire with the multi-terrain run taking place around the lake.

Businesses are invited to enter a team of three in the Tri20 Swim Business Challenge Cup with each member taking on a separate leg of the sprint triathlon. Each team must have at least one male and one female competitor.

There will also be a club competition – The Copthorne Cup Club Challenge – open to triathlon clubs throughout the country, which is a fun contest for teams of three comprising of a male, female and veteran.

Entrants are invited to put all their training and efforts on the day to good use by raising sponsorship for Sebastian’s Action Trust. Participants will be able to set up a fundraising page for the Trust through Virgin Money Giving by clicking here
